We are young, energetic professionals with over a decade of experience in the concierge and snow sports industry. We combine our obsession for thoughtful service with our passion for snow experiences to create beyond exceptional, custom journeys for our guests to discover.

Inspired by their love for winter outdoors and passionate about redefining the way travellers should experience snowsports, founders Mateo and Laurie combined their commitment to personalised wholehearted service with a profound expertise in all things snow to create Alteo, one of the premier providers of world-class luxury winter vacations.

Laurie Almond

Founder

From a young age Laurie has always been in pursuit of a new experience, in search for a moment that could be etched in his mind. Brought up in Manchester, but with Europe at his doorstep, he quickly became a highly trained instructor and host. His dedication to the snowsports service industry has brought Laurie around the world, giving him a chance to see and meet a variety of different cultures and people

Mateo Abascal

Founder

Born and raised in the Argentine Patagonia, Mateo grew up skiing and hiking in the Andes Mountains. After moving to Canada and completing his studies at the University of Toronto, Mateo became obsessed with outdoor travel and exploration, hiking and skiing anywhere a slope presented itself. His unique world perspective, upbeat demeanour, and can-do attitude along with his profound ski talent made him the ideal winter hospitality host

Having worked in 3 continents and both hemispheres, it was in the snowy paradise that is Hokkaido that they began to build a reputation for providing bespoke and thoughtful travel services for their guests. Now with over a decade of service experience and extensive connections within the industry, they created Alteo, a bespoke luxury vacation company devoted to excellence, dedicated to providing the best winter experiences life has to offer.
