SAMPLE ITINERARY - Family Holidays

Day 1

ARRIVAL

Lake Shikotsu, break for photos. Lake Shikotsu is a caldera lake in Chitose. It is the second deepest lake in Japan, located in Shikotsu-Toya’s National Park.

Day 2

DISCOVER NISEKO

Your private ski instructors will meet you at the hotel ski valet and take you on a full day to get comfortable on your skis and explore all that Niseko has to offer. After warming up your legs in the morning, enjoy lunch at one of the Park Hyatts restaurants. Continue skiing through the afternoon until you’ve had enough. You will ski or be driven back to your hotel to refresh, receive a massage or simply relax. At supper time, enjoy a meal, your host will be privately transported to Rin Izakaya in Lower Hirafu. A Niseko classic!

Day 3

NISEKO SKI DAY

Start your day with your instructors in Hanazono, adults and children will split off with their instructors to perfect your skiing abilities while traveling across resorts into Grand Hirafu. After a fruitful morning enjoying the new terrain and newfound confidence, reunite with the kids for a ski-in lunch at An Dining in the Ki Hotel. After a coffee and a treat to keep the body warm, continue exploring Hirafu until returning to your hotel. Later this evening, you will be privately transported to Sushi Shin for a 5 star sushi experience showcasing the best of Hokkaido seafood.

Day 4

SNOWMOBILE AND NIGHT SKI

Start your day mid morning with some snowmobiling around the Niseko Weiss area. After some machine powered family fun, you will be taken to Samosa, an art gallery and restaurant situated in a 150 year old traditional japanese barn house. Enjoy the chef's tasting menu and soak in the ambiance of this historic building. After a relaxing afternoon, your instructor will drive you to Grand Hirafu for an evening of night skiing. Discover Hirafu as seen under the lights from the top of a mountain. End things off with a warm bowl of ramen at one of Nisekos signature ramen shops.

Day 5

ANAPURI SKI DAY

Drive 20 minutes with your instructor to discover Nisekos furthermost ski resort, Annupuri. Indulge in some new panoramic views as you cruise down Annupuri's green and red slopes. For lunch, walk over to Pizza Del Sole, where the Japanese owner lived in Italy for 10+ years perfecting the art of woodfired pizza before bringing it back to Niseko. After an afternoon of fun skiing, stop off at Milk Kobo for finger licking good ice cream and dairy baked goods.

Day 6

RUSUTSU SKI DAY

On your way to Rusutusu ski resort, stop at Boulangerie Gin for some world class baked goods. In Rusutsu, famous for its gentle and wide beginner and intermediate slopes, find the perfect terrain to end off your ski holiday on a high note. Enjoy a slopeside bowl of ramen or Katsu-Don and continue skiing and discovering Rusutsu and all it’s charm, ski under the roller coasters, past the petting zoo and through the forest course. Rusutsu is truly a family resort. After a transfer back to your hotel and a soak in an onsen, you will be travel to Abu Cha 2 for a final feast of Japanese cuisine.

Day 7

DEPARTURE

After breakfast at Guz Guzu bakery, transfer to New Chitose Airport, for your flight home, or continue onto Tokyo to continue your culinary adventure as per our recommendations.

SAMPLE ITINERARY - Food and Snow Lovers

Day 1

ARRIVAL

You will be picked up from New Chitose Airport in Sapporo and taken directly to the central city for lunch at one of Hokkaido's most renowned sushi restaurants - Sushizen. After indulging in toro toro, uni, crab and many other ocean delicacies you will be transferred to Niseko to settle into your accommodation for the week. Upon arrival at your villa, you will be fitted for your ski gear rentals. After a rest and reset, you will be transferred to Bang Bang for some mouth watering Izakaya.

Day 2

DISCOVER NISEKO

After a morning skiing and regaining your confidence with your instructor, you will travel to Ichimura for a mouth watering bowl of buckwheat noodles with a variety of broth and temperature choices. Pick up a warm and comforting cup of coffee at the Mountain Kiosk and continue skiing until your legs give out. Soak in an onsen or enjoy a massage before your transfer to Haku Steak for dinner. Chef Luiz celebrates the seasons of Hokkaido with a menu inspired by its rich tapestry of culture and environment.

Day 3

Hanazono SKI DAY

Led by your instructor, travel by ski to Hanazono for lunch where you will be picked up and transferred to Samoza, an art gallery and restaurant situated in a 150 year old traditional japanese barn house overlooking a river valley. Here you will indulge in the chef's tasting menu in the beautifully curated space that is Samoza. Return to Niseko for some Apre Ski drinks before returning to your accommodation to reset. In the evening, travel to Anapuri for the Anthony Bourdain famed Rakuichi Soba, bringing you the chefs world class hand cut soba noodles and a showcase of Hokkaido seafood.

Day 4

Hanazono SKI DAY

The early bird get’s the warm…. and croissant. Start your day with a coffee from Baristart Coffee as you drive away from Niseko to Rustusu. Along the way, stop on the side of the road for baked goods at Boulangerie Jin. A bakery making a very limited amount of world class breads and pastries. In Rusutsu you will ski Isola East and West mountain. After a long morning of skiing with your instructor, you will be trasfered to Macarina restaurant where you will flavour the richness of Hokkaido produce. After a relaxing onsen, end your day with a hearty and delicious bowl of Hokkaido ramen followed by cocktails at Bar Gyu (fridge door bar).

Day 5

ANAPURI SKI DAY

On your final day in our culinary paradise, you will ski or be driven to Annapuri, the last of the fours Niseko United resorts. After exploring the slopes and enjoying the new views you will encounter, stop for lunch at Pizza Del Sole, a wood fired pizza restaurant where the Japanese owners lived in Italy for 10+ years perfecting the art of woodfired pizza before bringing it back to Niseko. Change into your walking shoes and spend the rest of the afternoon shopping for craft and souvenirs as directed by your host. Later in the evening, you will dine at Kamimura, a staple in the Niseko fine dinning scene with it’s Michelin star and annual rotating manu that’s please eaters for over a decade. Alternatively, take a day off skiing and jump into a Niseko Food tour visiting a local tofu factory, a local fish market and a whiskey distillery.

Day 6

DEPARTURE

After breakfast at Guz Guzu bakery, transfer to New Chitose Airport, for your flight home, or continue onto Tokyo to continue your culinary adventure as per our recommendations.

Early December

The season kicks off with the opening of the ski resort around the first week of December. This is a great time for beginner skiers to learn stress free due to the lack of people on the slopes. Likewise, enjoy strolls through a specious Hirafu, eat at your favourite restaurants without the hassle of fighting for a reservation and watch as the landscape transforms from green to white.

Late December to Mid January

Come experience Niseko at its peak. As temperatures drop and the snow accumulates, so does tourism, bringing us to a pinacle during the last week of the month. As we enter January, enjoy nightly top ups of fresh snow as well as a vibrant and electric town life. The izakayas are smoking, the beer pouring and the energy in town is palpable.

Mid January to Mid February

Winter is in full effect, the Sapporo Snow & Ice festival is on and so is the snow tap Japan is renowned for. This is your time for the full Japow experience. Come and experience life in white. Everywhere you look, snow will persist, creating beautiful white landscapes and even better skiing. Those wanting to experience deep powder skiing or those simply wanting to submerge in a winter wonderland, this is your time.

Mid February to March

The sun starts to break through allowing for beautiful days on the slopes with views of Mt. Yotei. The town and slopes begin to quiet down and to give the resort a more intimate feel. This is a great time of the winter for beginners and experts alike. Beginners can enjoy beautiful skiing weather (sunshine) and clear views of the surrounding landscape while more advanced skiers can adventure further with a backcountry guide.

March to end of Season

Spring is here. Quiet slopes with warm ski conditions makes for a very pleasant learning experience. This is the time for late starts to the day and Apres ski lifestyle in the evenings. Indulge in your favourite restaurants and accommodations, take a road trip to the less visited parts of the island to enjoy the rugged and volcanic coastlines of Hokkaido.
